After a run of games which has seen Liverpool face teams from outside the top five (Bolton, Fulham, West Ham, Blackburn, Hull), they travel to London to face Arsene Wenger’s struggling side.

Arsenal though, despite their troubles against the weaker sides this season, have defeated Man United at home and won at Chelsea.

Liverpool have yet to win at Arsenal’s new home, The Emirates, having been thrashed 3-0 in 2006 and drawing twice (both 1-1) in the same week last season in the League and Europe. The League draw saw a much weakened team perform admirably, with Peter Crouch scoring the Reds goal.

Rafa Benitez is expected to be without striker Fernando Torres still, although defender Martin Skrtel had initially marked this as a potential return for him from injury. Full back Fabio Aulreio could be fit.
